Biography —
Chamisa Edmo (she/her) is a citizen of the Navajo Nation, born for Blackfeet and Shoshone-Bannock. A graduate student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, she specializes in the ethical integration of Indigenous knowledgeways into emerging technologies. Her research focuses on Indigenous Digital Sovereignty, AI bias mitigation, and decentralized tools that support cultural and technological self-determination. She develops community-led technology protocol, AI bias simulation tools, and educational initiatives that empower Indigenous youth to engage with data and AI. The work bridges technical design with advocacy to advance ethical, inclusive, and culturally grounded systems in local and global contexts.
